Look at us, look at just the last hundred years. All the abilities that ancient cultures used to write about their deities, we have.

We can travel thousands of miles in a day.

We have bent the very building blocks of plants and animals to better suit or society.

We might not be able to cure every single malady, but at least (outside of episodes of House or CSI) generally have an idea whats happening inside of us, and lets face it, we’re living three to four times as long as anyone back in Jesus’s day would have never minding all the nailing to wood that went on. Our children are exponentially more likely to survive.

God can rain sulfur? We got nuclear weapons.

God can throw lightning bolts? We have harnessed the electron to the extent that anyone in the world can read this right now.

We can fly.

Machines made by man have touched the heavenly bodies.

Men have walked on the Moon.

And all this, all this progress and potential, it hurts me, it literally hurts me, that there are people out there that think some book written so long ago holds any kind of answer better than we have today.

I find it pathetic.
